| Setting Windows XP Professional Permissions |

| If user permissions are not set properly, the Illinois EVR program may not function in environments where a user has limited access to the PC. |
|
| I. |
Log in as the administrator to the computer, and install the software as directed if it is not already installed. |
| II. |
Once installed & configured you must stay logged in as the administrator to do all of the following. |

If it is not already created, create the directory structure: 'C:\CvrImport'. |

The first portion of these instructions involves setting permissions in the registry editor: 'regedit'. |

The second portion of these instructions involves setting permissions on folders through 'Windows Explorer' in an environment where the hard drives file system is formatted in NTFS. |

Part One: |
 |
1. |
Go to 'Start' > 'Run' > Type 'regedit' in the text box > Click 'Ok'. |

2. |
Through the tree structure in the left-hand window , make sure you are in 'My Computer' > 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' > 'SOFTWARE'. |

You will then do the following for both the folders 'Borland' and 'CVR': |

a. |
Right Click the folder, and select 'Permissions'. |
 |
 |
b. |
This opens a window which lists users / groups of users. Select each one and check the box 'Full Control' for all user groups that will be using CVR on this computer. It's recommended that nearly all groups be given Full Control. |

 |
c. |
Optionally: in this same Window click the 'Add' button and find the user group 'Everyone'. this group may not exist, but if it does, add this user group and give it 'Full Control' as well. |

Part Two: |

1. |
Find the file 'PDOXUSRS.NET' directly off of the C: drive in 'Windows Explorer' (If the file 'PDOXUSRS.NET' is not on the C: drive, CVR has not been opened and needs to be launched and configured first). |

a. |
Right click the file, and select 'Properties' |

b. |
Inside Properties go to the 'Security' Tab. *** |
 |

c. |
In the list of users / groups of users, select each one and check the box 'Full Control' for all that will be using CVR on this computer. It's recommended that nearly all groups be given Full Control. |

d. |
Optionally: in this same Window click the 'Add' button and find the user group 'Everyone'. this group may not exist, but if it does, add this user group and give it 'Full Control' as well. |
